How much does mobile oil change cost in Madison?

What decides the price
- Oil type. Conventional, synthetic blend or full synthetic. Some engines require full synthetic and using anything else risks the warranty and the engine — we’ll tell you which yours takes.
- Capacity. A four-cylinder taking four and a half quarts and a V8 taking eight are different amounts of oil. Larger engines cost more to fill, which is simply the parts cost.
- Filter type. Cartridge and spin-on filters differ in price, and a few vehicles use filters that cost noticeably more than average.
- Diesel and high-capacity. Diesel engines hold considerably more oil and take a different specification. Quoted separately.

What changes the price
If one quote is far cheaper than another, it is usually one of these — not somebody being generous.
- How much oil your engine takes. A four-cylinder sedan takes about 4.5 quarts. A V8 truck can take 8 or more, and that difference is real money.
- Which oil the manufacturer specifies. Most vehicles built in the last fifteen years require full synthetic. Putting conventional in them to save money is a false economy that costs you an engine.
- Filter type. Cartridge filters take longer than spin-on and some sit in awkward places.
- Whether the drain plug is stripped. Wisconsin salt and a previous over-tightened plug are a common combination. We will tell you before we charge you.

Why the cheap oil change is rarely the cheap one
The quick-lube business model is not built on the oil change. It is built on what gets sold to you while the car is on the rack: a transmission flush you did not need, an engine flush that can dislodge deposits into places you do not want them, a cabin filter marked up four times.
We are not on commission because there is nobody to pay us one. We change your oil, we tell you what we saw, and we write it down. If your air filter genuinely is filthy we will show it to you and quote it. If it is fine we will say so, and that costs us the sale.
How often, honestly
Follow the interval in your owner’s manual, not the sticker somebody put on your windscreen. Most modern engines running full synthetic are specified somewhere between 7,500 and 10,000 miles, and many have an oil life monitor that does the thinking for you.
Wisconsin driving does shorten it in one specific case: a lot of short trips in deep winter. An engine that never fully warms up accumulates moisture and fuel dilution in the oil. If your commute is under fifteen minutes and it is January, going a little earlier than the manual says is genuinely justified. Otherwise, the 3,000-mile rule is a marketing relic.

No. Plenty of customers leave the keys and go to work. We text you when we arrive and when we are done, along with anything we noticed during the inspection.
What do you do with the old oil?
It leaves with us and goes to a proper recycling facility, along with the old filter. Nothing goes down a drain or into a bin. That is both the law and the only decent way to do it.
Can you do an oil change in my apartment parking lot?
Usually yes, in your assigned stall. Some property managers have rules about it, so a quick check with your office avoids an awkward conversation. We work clean and put down a mat — there is no mess left behind.
